What did I learn in these Six days
I have always been passionate about writing,something that runs in the family but I have always shied away from taking it seriously.After attaining motherhood I chose to stay at home and as the years passed by I kind of started losing the confidence to go back to active professional life.
Few years back I had heard about Content Writing from a friend as a very viable option for taking work from home but somehow I could not get an opportunity to delve deep into it.Recently when I was scrolling through Instagram ,I came across the advertisement for Content Vidhya and just tapped on it showing some interest .But when you got back to me with all the details , I thought this would be the best time to pursue it as my evenings were free due to the lockdown as I had to temporarily suspend my dance classes.So here I was ready to study again after a long long time.
✔ The first class was more of an introduction to writing.
✔ Next I learned how to carve a good blog.
✔How to make an appealing marketing piece through copywriting
✔How to discover my niche and
✔How to use various tools to beautify and strengthen my writing and place it well so that it could be visible to the audience at large and also make an earning through it.
I have always been a very spontaneous sort of writer,so when I was given the assignment and a set date and time of submission ,that did make me a little nervous.
✏For the first assignment we were supposed to come up with an introduction on any subject and a befitting headline that met certain criteria and I must have tried for at least 2 hours and almost a hundred headlines to get that score.
✏Things started rolling after that as next I had to write a full article extrapolating the headline ,which was fun.
✏ But the most difficult was the Copywriting assignment as I found myself too technologically challenged in using all the tools that we were supposed to,and that was the one I got my best review for.
✏ I don’t remember thinking about myself and my interests as much as I did the day we were asked to discover our niche.I can say I rediscovered myself while I discovered my niche.
✏The last class was very elaborate explaining all the nitty gritty of blogging and content writing.
It isn’t as simple as it seems but the entire concept was explained very methodically for which I would congratulate the team of Content Vidhya.
The course is over,here I am writing my last assignment and thinking what next??I guess this course brushed off the rust ,now I am ready to flex my muscles and make my foray into writing as a full career option.I know this won’t be easy ,but when is easy interesting??
My takeaway from the last 6 days-It is never too late to learn and definitely never too late to earn!!
